SANA Concept has been developped in response to the EU Science in Society 2010 Call
Science is a creative process but it is not perceived as such especially by young people and the contribution of science to cultural development is not obvious. The aim of the proposal is to mobilise a multidisciplinary arts and science consortium to engage collaboratively quantifiable target population (s) -young people at school, youth organisations, adults, parents- in activities that uses art to address educational aspects and help improve the perception of science
SANA Project aims to train artists and art teachers in frontier arts in 10 European countries
SANA expected outcomes
Science Art Experts Testimonials
The project sounds very interesting and I would be delighted to take part as a new media expert.
Professor Simon Park, UK
I’ am very interested in SANA - It suits what I do, I have set up a course at the University of Brighton for 2nd Year Art students in "Art/Science Collaborative Practice and the two courses I run for Brighton and Sussex Medical School for 3rd year medics along similar lines (one focussing specifically on microbiology). I have also run workshops for teachers and extended schools projects,

This certainly looks like an interesting initiative and I know some of the bid partners like SmartLab and CIANT. Count me in as a collaborator.
Martin Riese, De Montfort University, UK
I have studied the SANA proposal and it seems very promising…. I think there’s a great need for a project such as Science Art Nomadic Academy -
Jan Hatt-Olsen, Denmark
The program sounds interesting, and fruitfully ambitious, in future terms of Art, Science and Education
Maria Lalou, Netherlands
I am definitely interested in participation. I can contribute more strongly in the realm of the analogue or analogue/digital; physical objects and sensor system interfaces used in sound work for example. Exploration and curiosity in science and in science-art is an important component of my practice,
Dave Lawrence, UK
I am very interested in the subject matter. I like the idea of a mobile lab that docks into a location and connects with the content specificity of the situation. (I am trained as an architect...)
Marion Traenkle, Netherlands
This is an absolutely amazing project. For some years it has been my desire to participate in such a project where art and science are expected to contribute in an emacipated way and not just for decorative, marketing or popularity reasons. I am still convinced that a serious collaboration is possible and it will evoke new ways of dealing with the complexity with which we daily encounter. There is no doubt, if possible I want to join in.,
Hans H. Diebner", Germany
The project is very interesting. What do you see as my participation in it?
Dr. Joseph Nechvatal, UK
..My initial thought is that this is an ambitious project and we would be delighted to collaborate as partners. The idea of using the containers makes sense
Howard Boland, UK
